The Government of the Azores granted the Agricultural Association of Flores Island a financial support in the amount 59,800 Euros to support the costs of technical assistance to farmers from that Western Group island.
Awarded by an ordinance issued by the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Forestry published in the Official Journal on Tuesday, this financial amount aims to compensate that organisation for the support provided to farmers, especially in animal feeding and well-being as well as in the good use of fodder and silage.
The Official Journal also includes another ordinance, signed by Noé Rodrigues, granting the Agricultural Association of Corvo Island a financial support in the amount of 15,100 Euros.
This governmental sum is addressed at the subsidisation of the expenses related to the strengthening of technical assistance in animal health to local farmers as well as to the strengthening of the quality of animal husbandry products from Corvo.
The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Forestry justifies the allocation of support sue to the fact that these two associations are “of utmost importance for the development strengthening of agricultural and animal husbandry activities” on Flores and Corvo, “making possible the modernisation of the sector” in the Western Group.
