The Regional Government of the Azores is investing strongly in the promotion of regional
agricultural products at national and international events. The Government , in concert with Azorean firms and entrepreneurs, is implementing a strategic marketing programme to promote local products that have become known for their diversity and quality.

One example of the success of this strategy is the greatest participation ever of the Region in the Exposition of Wine, Fisheries and Agriculture (SISAB) at which the Regional Government promoted, on Tuesday, as usual, a dinner, which consisted entirely of regional products, for more than 1.300 national and international guests.

The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Forestry, who attended the event on behalf of the President of the Regional Government of the Azores, said that regional producers must invest in the search for new markets and improve the quality of their products by participating in the marketing programmes that are offered by the Azorean government.

He said that the participation of the Regional Government in such marketing events helps firms and entrepreneurs secure new contacts and to identify new business opportunities that may ensure the promotion and internationalisation of their businesses and products, thus projecting the prestige of the brand "Azores" abroad.

The Regional Secretariat for the Economy and the Secretariat for Agriculture and Forestry will occupy the same space at the exposition, an area of 140 square meters, where fifty Azorean companies will be represented and where a panoply of products will be presented , such as liqueurs, cheeses, canned fish, fruits and wines.

The Exposition of Wine, Fisheries and Agriculture (SISAB) is particularly well-suited for the establishment of new contacts with international businesses. It is the largest exposition in this sector and, as such, it is conducive to the formation of partnerships between the more than one thousand businesses that attend the event. It will end on Tuesday, in Lisbon.
