The Graciosa Geosites Charter has just been published by the University of the Azores. This edition was developed under the Azores Geopark Project, counting upon the support of the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and the Sea.
The aforementioned charter contains the characterisation of the nine geosites located on that island classified as a Biosphere reserve of the Azores as well as photos and information on the certified hiking trails and the respective summary table.
After publishing of the Santa Maria charter, this is the second of its kind to be developed by LAGE – Geodiversity Laboratory of the Azores, of the Department of Geosciences of the University of the Azores.
The Corvo and Faial Geosites Charters are expected to be published during 2010.
