Government authorises signing of contract-programme between the Azores and the Sociedade de Promoção e Gestão Ambiental, S.A
The Council of the Government has authorised the signing of a contract-programme between the Azores and the Sociedade de Promoção e Gestão Ambiental, S.A (SPRAçores) in the maximum amount of 1,281,483.00 Euros.
The contract to be signed this year aims to implement the Land Management Plan of the Furnas Crater Lake Hydrographic Basin, including the renewal works of its margins – South Zone – and the production and implementation of the contents of the interpretation Centre integrated in this contract work.
The Government also has authorised a contract in the amount of 398,367.00 Euros for the preparation of architectural designs and implementation of inspection and monitoring actions in the areas of Environment and Spatial Planning.
During the meeting, the Council of the Government has also decided to move ahead with the construction of the necessary infrastructures to enhance the use of the available water resources for electricity production in the Ribeira do Salto (stream) located in the municipality of Calheta, São Jorge. In addition, the Council has appointed the members of the Board of the Entity for the Regulation of Water and Waste Services in the Azores which will be composed by Hugo Pacheco (chairman), Ana Marisa Goulart and Luís Manuel de Sousa Lopes.
