The Government of the Azores promotes the Scientific Forum for Decision Support "Knowing the Azores Sea III" on the island of Faial today and tomorrow. This initiative is organised with the purpose of strengthening regional research networks as well as to promote debate and communication between researchers and the Administration.
This discussion forum on marine sciences and their contribution to the decision to be taken under the European initiative "OPEN DAYS 2013 - 11th European Week of Regions and Cities" will be held at the João José da Graça Public Library and Regional Archive in the city of Horta, starting at 10 AM; admission is free.
Being jointly organised by the Regional Secretariat for Natural Resources and Under Regional Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations, with the support of the Luso-American Foundation and Horta City Hall, this meeting is also an opportunity to update the knowledge on the scientific developments in the Azores Sea.
More than 30 regional, national and international researchers and experts will participate in the Forum "Knowing the Azores Sea III"; their presentations will address several areas, such as Marine Protected Areas, Monitoring, Introduced Species and Marine Technologies.
