Visit of the Course for Promotion to the Post of General Official to the Azores promotes a better understanding of Autonomy, says Vasco Cordeiro
The President of the Government considered that the visit of the military attending the Course for Promotion to the Post of General Official at the Institute of Higher Military Studies to the Azores will be of "great importance" insofar as it promotes an in-person with the reality of the Region and a better understanding of Regional Autonomy.
"This visit to the Azores is of great importance to the Autonomous Region of the Azores since it allows a direct and in-person contact with some aspects that depict the multiple realities of our country, from an institutional, social and economic perspective," said Vasco Cordeiro.
The President of the Government spoke in Ponta Delgada, after receiving, in audience, the Director of the Institute of Higher Military Studies, Lieutenant General Xavier Rui Manuel Fernandes Matias, and the auditors of the Course for Promotion to the Post of General Official.
"The fact that this course includes visits to the Autonomous Regions, it provides an opportunity to become better acquainted with Regional Autonomies," Vasco Cordeiro said, emphasising that the Regional Government considers this visit "important and very useful.”
The President of the Government expressed the Regional Government's recognition for the contribution provided by the military who serve in the archipelago to ensure the safety and well-being of the Azorean population.
"The Azoreans know well the role, the importance and the meaning of relying on the professionalism, the commitment, the dedication and the work of the military of all branches of the Armed Forces, especially in times of greatest distress," stressed Vasco Cordeiro.
