The President of the Government of the Azores, Vasco Cordeiro, received today the new Regional Commander of PSP (Public Safety Police), Superintendent José Correia, to whom he ensured the Government's availability to continuing supporting Security Forces in the Region.
"The Government of the Azores remains interested, within its powers and the provisions of the Legislative Assembly, in supporting Security Forces in the Azores as well as in reinforcing the means available," said Vasco Cordeiro after the meeting held in Ponta Delgada.
With regard to the number of security forces, the President of the Government expects that "there is an awareness of the specific situation of the archipelago and the required means to carry out the State's duties."
