The President of the Government of the Azores offered to the President of the Government of Madeira his condolences for the victims of a tree fall in Funchal as well as his solidarity for the ordeal that the archipelago is enduring.

"In this hour of mourning and grief, I want to send you, on my behalf and on behalf of the Regional Government and the Azorean People, my condolences for the fatalities and my full solidarity for the ordeal that our neighbour archipelago is enduring," said Vasco Cordeiro.
 
In a message sent to Miguel Albuquerque in the wake of an event that, "in an unexpected and tragic way, brought moments of grief and bereavement to the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the President of the Government of the Azores also offered his best wishes of a swift and full recovery of the injured victims.
