The President of the Government received today the Ombudswoman, Maria Lúcia Amaral, to whom he conveyed the desire to maintain a fruitful collaboration with this institution in order to increasingly improve the performance of the Regional Administration.
 
"It is a body that, as far we are concerned, plays an important role in improving the performance of the Regional Administration. In this regard, one of the persons who are deeply interested in the increasing better performance of the Regional Administration is precisely the President of the Government," said Vasco Cordeiro after the meeting held in Ponta Delgada.
 
The President of the Government spoke to journalists, stressing that that the complaints filed with the Ombudsman's Office represent "the exercise of enlightened citizenship." According to him, this should result in the improvement of public service performance, thus benefiting Azorean citizens and all those using these services.
