The President of the Government received on Friday the Ambassador of Indonesia in Lisbon at meeting that served to exchange views on areas of common interest, following the recent visits of diplomatic and business representatives from that country to the Azores.

"This visit is also part of the Government's efforts to promote the Region, not only for its potentialities, but also for its role in the projection of our country in areas of interest in the economic field," said Vasco Cordeiro to journalists.

The President of the Government also took the opportunity to stress the willingness demonstrated by Ambassador Albert Matondang in granting this audience, held in Ponta Delgada, following the visits made by diplomatic representatives and entrepreneurs from Indonesia to the Azores over the last two years. These visits were focused on the canning industry and the fisheries sector.
