The president of the Government put in charge the regional secretary of the Presidency of accompanying and coordinating the intervention of the Azores in the issues concerning the Lajes Airfield and nominated a new representative of the Region in the Bilateral Standing Committee of the Defense and Cooperation Agreement between Portugal and the United States.
The choice of Carlos César relapsed into one of the assistants of the secretary of the Presidency, Francisco Tavares, graduated in International Relations.
The president of the Government also nominated the Regional Inspectorate of Employment, Paula Ramos, to represent the Azores in the Labour Commission of the Agreement.
