The Azorean Parliament will analyse in Horta this week the governmental proposal for the establishment of the Society for Environmental Management and Nature Preservation, SA (AZORINA, SA).
In addition to promoting environmental management, the preservation of nature and natural resources, the anonymous society also aims to develop several activities in order to promote public participation in environmental matters as well as in the area of environmental information, dissemination and education.
At the March session, the Legislative Assembly will also discuss two proposals regarding the exemption from the installation and maintenance requirement of the electronic vehicle registration in the Azores and the establishment of preventive measures to be applied to the Caldeira de Guilherme Moniz/Pico Alto hydrographic basin on Terceira Island.
Furthermore, the diplomas regarding the amendment to the establishment, autonomy and management scheme of the school establishments integrated in the regional education system and the partial suspension of the Tourist Planning of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (POTRAA) are also included in the “package” of legislative proposals presented by the Government during this session.
