Outdoor add campaign to promote the Azores in the main plazas of Lisbon

Outdoor add campaign to promote the Azores in the main plazas of Lisbon

Starting Monday, the Regional Government of the Azores will begin a promotional programme of the Azores in the main plazas of Lisbon. Outdoor promotional ads showing the most emblematic sceneries and products of the islands will be placed in the squares.

This initiative, which includes promotional activities in the metropolitan areas of Marquês de Pombal, Saldanha, Entrecampos and Praça de Espanha, is included in the marketing programme of the Azorean representation at the Lisbon Tourism Fair (BTL) that begins two days later.

The participation of our Region in the most important Portuguese tourism fair is a fitting opportunity to present the Azorean Strategic Plan for Tourism that will be carried out in the next three years.

The Azorean Strategic Plan for Tourism includes marketing and communications’ programmes that will be formally presented on the 22nd of January, which is “Azores day” at the Tourism Fair.

On the 22nd of January, the Azorean representation will be visited by tourism professionals, opinion-makers and the public in general. They will be greeted with the following marketing proposal: “Ready for the best time in your life?” This slogan is based on the view that the archipelago is a close, diverse and economical destination for tourists.

In economical terms, the Azores were the Portuguese region that grew the most throughout the last decade, a fact which demonstrates the success of the developmental plan that was adopted by the Regional Government. Given this fact, the Azorean Government will take this opportunity to participate in the Lisbon Tourism Fair (BTL) to announce a new phase in the consolidation of the Azores as a destination for well established niche markets.

For the Government, this new marketing plan is intended to provide the tools and resources that are needed to attract more tourists whose interests revolve around active outdoor activities, thus placing the region in the map of environmental-adventure tourism and diversifying and improving the offer of products and services.

Hence, the Regional Government regards the Lisbon Tourism Fair has the perfect place to launch this new marketing campaign of the Azores with an emphasis in the promotion of new products such as Whale-watching, Diving, Volcanology and Geocaching.
