Organisational restructuring demonstrates Government's determination to serve the Azorean people, assures Vasco Cordeiro

The President of the Government of the Azores assured today that the organisational restructuring that was recently carried out demonstrates the Government's determination to continue serving, with the utmost commitment and hard work, the project that the majority of the Azorean people chose in the 2012 elections.

"The Government of the Azores is working to help the Azores overcoming the challenges they face and, by these means, to lead our Region in the path towards progress and development. However, we must take into account the challenging times we live in," said Vasco Cordeiro to workers.

The President of the Government spoke after the swear-in ceremony of the new members of the XI Regional Government of the Azores at the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

According to Vasco Cordeiro, this organisational restructuring also evidences a "constant attention" regarding the best way to serve the Azores and the Azorean people with redoubled strength and commitment.

The new members of the government who inaugurated their term today are as follows: the Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity, Andreia Costa; the Regional Secretary for Education and Culture, Avelino Meneses; the Regional Secretary for the Sea, Science and Technology, Fausto Brito e Abreu; the Regional Assistant Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs, Isabel Almeida Rodrigues.

After the swear-in ceremony of the new members of the Government that was held today at the Legislative Assembly in Horta, the structure of the XI Regional Government of the Azores is as follows:
 

President of the Government: Vasco Cordeiro

Vice-President: Sérgio Ávila

Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity: Andreia Cardoso

Regional Secretary for Health: Luís Cabral

Regional Secretary for Education and Culture: Avelino Meneses

Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport: Vítor Fraga

Regional Secretary for Agriculture and the Environment: Luís Neto Viveiros

Regional Secretary for the Sea, Science and Technology: Fausto Brito e Abreu

Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs: Isabel Almeida Rodrigues

Regional Under Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations: Rodrigo Oliveira
