The last plenary meeting of the IX Government of the Azores, constituted in the sequence of regional legislative elections of October 2004, happened today, in the Capitães Generais Palace, in Angra do Heroísmo, under the presidency of the chief of the Executive, Carlos César.
Before the last Council of Government, Carlos César announced the composition of his new Executive, who takes office on Tuesday afternoon, in a solemn session scheduled for the seat of the Regional Parliament, in Horta.
The X Government of the Azores has the biggest support of the Parliament, having the party that supports him conquered 30 of the 57 mandates disputed in the regional elections of the 19th of October.
Most of the regional secretaries, though with different offices, pass from the IX to the X Government of the Azores, executive organ of the Region created by the Constitution of 1976.
There only don’t make part of the new Executive the secretaries for Economy (Duarte Ponte) and for Social Affairs (Domingos Cunha).
