Government is working on the repositioning of the Azores Destination in the northern European market, says Vasco Cordeiro
The President of the Government received today the Ambassador of Sweden in Portugal. The meeting served as an opportunity for Vasco Cordeiro to make Caroline Fleetwood with the Government's efforts to reposition the Azores Destination in northern European markets.
"We have been working to achieve a set of goals that were stipulated with the aim of highlighting an active tourist product as we believe that this approach might have a more significant impact in terms of wealth and employment creation in our Region," said Vasco Cordeiro.
At the end of the hearing, held in Ponta Delgada, the President of the Government reminded that the Swedish market plays a very important role in the early phase of the Azores Tourism as an economic sector. Now, it is time to enter a new cycle of evolution in this new market.
"Currently, we are focusing our attention on the assets that the Azores have to offer in the tourism sector, not only in terms of landscape value but also in terms of the activities that can be developed in the archipelago," stressed Vasco Cordeiro.
