The President of the Regional Government of the Azores, Carlos César will attend a series of meetings with social partners and political parties at the end of next week to start the joint formulation of the Medium-Term Strategy (OMP) and Investment Policy Programme, both of which will be submitted to the Regional Parliament for discussion.

Carlos César is scheduled to meet with the Regional Strategic Council at the beginning of February. The President will present the policy-projects of the Regional Government.

The OMP proposals that are being elaborated will contextualise the public investment projects that will be carried out by the Regional Government between 2009 and 2012, the duration of the present mandate of the Azorean Parliament, elected in October. 

The regional annual investment plans are approved one year before the date of their implementation. However, this meeting was rescheduled for 2009 because the regional elections took place at the end of 2008.
