Government is going to invest nearly 30 million euros in the requalification of the sea front of Horta’s city
The Government of the Azores is going to invest, next three years, nearly 30 million euros in the first phase of the requalification and re-planning work of the sea front of Horta’s city, island of Faial.
With a term of execution of 36 months, the contract job, put to public competition by the Administração dos Portos do Triângulo e do Grupo Ocidental, SA, has a respected value of 27 million euros, added of VAT at the standard rate.
Amongst the works to be executed there are the construction of a new jetty, with 293 meters of length, with a sea-wall of large rocks and a tetrapods mantle of protection, of a joining wharf with 316 meters, in blocks from simple concrete, of a bridge-quay with 100 meters, with pillars in intrados and tray from armed concrete, and of an embankment with 20 thousand square meters protected by two retention of slope.
The contract job includes, equally, the construction of a conducting counterfort and protection of the mouth of river of the riverside of Conceição, with 130 meters of length, with a sea-wall of large rocks and concrete protection blocks, the dredging of the basins of maneuver and parking, with a global volume of 40 thousand cubic meters, and the construction of a building meant for sea platform.
The construction of the works of arrangement of the public space of the surrounding areas, including a new rotunda, road accesses to the embankment, paving and garden areas, as well as the execution of the new networks of public lighting, water supply, drainage of pluvial and residual waters, telephones and fuels, are still predicted.
The limit date for the delivery of proposals is the 29th of September (at 17 o’clock), being scheduled for the next day, at 10 o’clock, the public ceremony of opening of the proposals.
