For the President of the Government of the Azores considered it is “fundamental to continue to develop efforts and adopt a proactive attitude that allow us to influence, as most as we can,” the final decision on the reform of the EU fisheries policy.
For this reason, continued Carlos César, “the commitment of all those who represent the Azores and defend the interests of sea economics, particularly of fisheries” is also very important.
The President of the Government mentioned the European MPs that represent the Azores and stated that Maria do Céu Patrão Neves delivered to him the Europe Parliament report about the Green Paper on the Fisheries Common Policy and pointed out the coincidence regarding the position defended by the Azorean Government in these matters and the premises embodied in the European Parliament report.
Reiterating the commitment of the Government of the Azores in achieving the best results in the fisheries reform, Carlos César underlined that all contributions will be enhanced in order to improve the final result.
