Carlos César says that citizen participation is important in the resolution of problems
Carlos César assured today that the Government always welcomes the creation of associations and citizen groups that, in an organised way, contribute to progress and public well-being.
The President of the Government spoke at the end of a hearing that he granted to the leaders of the Association for Health Promotion in the Azores, adding that the aforementioned association is a good example of the good contribution that the Government encourages and needs.
Saying that the Region is covered by a good Regional Health Service – even though the difficulties that arise due to the geographical dispersion and the shortage of human resources, the President stressed that, despite everything, this is a service that solves problems.
“As far as we are concerned, the existence of behavioural, information and knowledge models that effectively promote health is important, and thus the contribution of these associations is fundamental, through partnerships with public institutions and different levels of the Administration,” said Carlos César.
The president of the Government also stated that he believes that “in this sector, the resolution of many problems which should not be only solved by the public administration is in the citizens’ hands.”
