The President of the Government of the Azores said last night that “there are plenty of tools for businesspeople to overcome the crisis, with their own hands, imagination, intelligence, talent and with the Governmental support, and for them to work in order to improve the performance of their companies, doing more and better.”
Carlos César addressed dozens of businesspeople during a dinner offered to the Government’s members by the Commercial and Industrial Association of Pico Island in the context of the statutory visit of the Azorean to Government to that Island.
For the President of the Government, “there are more things to do than regretting” and “finding comfortably refuge in whining is the worst we can do, thinking that the Government will solve all our problems.”
Mentioning a detailed list containing the widely disseminated measures to fight against the effects arisen from the international economic crisis – through the creation of credit-lines and other ways to support companies, as well as families, the President expressed encouraging words to overcome the difficulties, assuring that the Government will always be on the side of companies and families.
“I am confident that is the constructive guideline, the guideline of hope, the guideline of confidence, and the strength which is so typical of the Azorean People during the most difficult moments will triumph in the Azores. And in that moment of triumph, the Government will be on the side of our companies, as well on the side of our families.”
