The process of candidature of the island of Flores to Reserve of the Biosphere is subject of a session of explanation that happens on Wednesday night, in that island of the Western Group.

The meeting, open to the participation of the local entities and population in general, happens in the Noble Hall of the Town Hall of Santa Cruz, at 21 o’clock.

The initiative occurs as part of the international meeting of the Network of the Eastern Atlantic of Reserves of the Biosphere (REDBIOS), which happens this week in Flores from Tuesday till Friday.

As members of the REDBIOS, the Azores proposed to organize the annual meeting of the REDBIOS in the island of Flores with the purpose of presenting and making public its candidature, which is in phase of preparation, to Reserve of the Biosphere

Besides the Azores, Madeira, the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Morocco, Senegal and Mauritania integrate the REDBIOS.
