Azores with work group for prevention and control of infections associated to health cares
Government doctors, nurses and technicians integrate a work group of eight elements created by the Government of the Azores with the objective of promoting the knowledge of the regional situation on the subject of infections associated to the health cares.
The new organism, which integrates representatives of the regional hospitals of the islands of Faial, Terceira and S. Miguel and of the health centres of Horta and Ribeira Grande, appears as part of the development of the National Program of Prevention and Control of the Infection Associated to the Health Cares (PNCI).
The PNCI aims, through the systematization of register, analysis, interpretation and information of return to the health unities, at knowing the national reality on infections associated to the health cares and at joining efforts for, in an organized, adjusted and supported way, promoting, at a long term, the reduction of the incidence of the problem, contributing to the safety of the patient.
