The itinerant exhibition of the artistic estate of Natália Correia and Dórdio Guimarães, "The Drawing in the Private Collection of Natália Correia" ("O Desenho na Colecção Privada de Natália Correia”), will be open to the public from 6pm on Friday in the Chapter Room of the Angra do Heroísmo Museum.
The initiative, promoted by the Regional Directorate for Culture of the Presidency of the Government, and under office of the architect Rita Cruz Dourado, intends to take to all the islands these important cultural legacies of the collection of Natália and of her husband.
Among the represented artists there are Abel Manta, Stuart de Carvalhais, Almada Negreiros, Cesariny and Júlio Pomar, whose presence in the estate doesn’t appear so much for the normal selective process of construction of a collection, stemming from a communion of affections and tastes regarding the works of art and to the nominated artists.
After the passage by São Miguel (Igreja do Colégio), which coincided with its regional inauguration, and by Santa Maria (Igreja das Vitórias), the exhibition will be now open till the 8th February 2009 in the Angra do Heroísmo Museum.
