Ponta Delgada Public Library continues cycles “Jazz at Colégio” and “Cinema on Holidays”
Under the cycle “Jazz at Colégio” (Jazz no Colégio), the Ponta Delgada Library and Regional Archive will exhibit the film “Bird” by Clint Eastwood on July 28.
Being presented by João Nuno Almeida e Sousa, this 1988 film is based on the life of Charlie “Yardbird” Parker through the melody that only Jazz possesses. Past and future alternate, as the film portrays Bird’s constructive ability and his destructive excesses.
Clint Eastwood is a great Jazz fan and his dedication earned him a Golden Globe for Best Director for this exciting story, with Forest Whitetaker and Diane Venore in the leading roles.
With free-admittance sessions, the exhibition of the film, addressed at people over 16, will take place at the Library’s auditorium at 9:30 PM.
Meanwhile, following-up the project “Cinema on Holidays” (Cinema em Férias), the Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive will exhibit last summer’s musical hit “Mamma Mia!” on the same day at 10 AM.

The films, which one can watch by appointment, will be exhibited at the auditorium of the Ponta Delgada Public Library, being addressed at children over six years old.
