The Children and Youngster Section of the Angra do Heroísmo Public Library and Regional Archive – Cultural and Conference Centre will promote the 1st Cinema Cycle during this month.
The cycle addressed at children to be held every Wednesday started today at 2 PM with the exhibition of the film “The Tale of Despereux.”
The film “Space Chimps” will be exhibited on August 12, being followed by “Kung Fu Panda” on August 19 and “Madagascar 2” on August 26.
This project related to cinema intends to provide moments of leisure, through the exhibition of recent films which are suitable for children and to raise awareness for other types of reading.
In addition, this initiative aims to explore other aspects related to cinema, such as the director, cast, subtitles, languages, among others, in order to complement the interpretation of the exhibited films.
In order to create an atmosphere of a cinema room, popcorn will be offered to the children who will participate in this initiative.
“Fun Activities” (Actividades Divertidas) addressed at groups composed by more than 10 members will take place on September 11 at 2 PM with free-admittance sessions or by appointment, being another activity organised by the Angra do Heroísmo Public Library.
Regarding this initiative, children will be invited to take part in a different activity every day, in accordance with the developed theme and the type of initiative to be carried out on that day.
Hence, Monday will be dedicated to games, Tuesday to plastic expression workshops, Wednesday to puppet theatre and Thursday to sciences.
The week will end on Friday with the organisation of two tale sessions, scheduled for 10:30 AM and 2 PM, respectively.
