The Regional Health Authority reports that five positive cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed on the island of São Miguel, according to testing conducted by the Genetics and Molecular Pathology Unit of the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital in Ponta Delgada.

The identified cases correspond to two males, aged 37 and 49, with history of recent travel outside the Region.

Additionally, there are three females, aged between 24 and 59, with confirmed diagnoses.

Regarding these three cases, one has recently travelled abroad and the other two cases had contact with individuals who travelled outside in the Region.

Currently, all patients are clinically stable and in home confinement.

The information on the COVID-19 pandemic will be updated this afternoon at 4 pm, through a press conference to be held at the headquarters of the Regional Health Secretariat at Solar dos Remédios in Angra do Heroísmo.
